As a young dental student in Brazil, Dr. Lima discovered Dr. L.D. Pankey’s book A Philosophy of the Practice of Dentistry. Dr. Pankey’s story about how dental care profoundly affects a person’s confidence and quality of life shaped Dr. Lima’s calling to preserve the four essentials: comfort, function, health, and esthetics.

For Dr. Lima, that story struck a powerful chord during his formative years in dentistry. It revealed a kind of dentistry that could be more than a profession—it could be a calling.
